Par + Pi

Par + Pi is an educational program that explores the connection between math and golf.

Over the course of three sessions in the Spring, students from the Astros Youth Academy and First Tee of Greater Houston learn golf history, basic golf and geometry concepts, geometry of the golf swing, and geometry in golf course design.

The program is designed for students in grades 9-12 with a focus on increasing student basic golf knowledge and confidence in connecting geometry concepts to the game for golf.

The Par + Pi program is a partnership between ConocoPhillips and the Astros Golf Foundation with curriculum facilitated by First Tee of Greater Houston.

Participating students have the opportunity to:

• Learn from golf experts
• Engage in fun and educational math + golf activities
• Access the golf course at Memorial Park
• Receive t-shirts, prizes and more
