Madeline Lacamu is a passionate math educator and has been teaching at Shadow Creek High School for the last six years. Specializing in teaching Calculus AB and BC, Madeline also brings her expertise to Algebra 1, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics classes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Secondary Mathematics from Western Governors University, solidifying her foundation in mathematical knowledge and teaching skills.

Madeline demonstrates creativity and innovation in the classroom and goes above and beyond to edit and add lessons and activities to better meet the needs of students. She is gifted in taking abstract ideas of all levels of mathematics and analyzing each component into teachable parts. She then masterfully leads students to synthesize that information back together for a thorough understanding of the concepts. Her commitment to her students is evidenced in her results. Her Algebra 1 students performed above the district and state averages, and 80% of the summer school students enrolled in her Algebra remediation class passed the state STAAR exam. Madeline’s AP Calculus students scored above the district, state and “global” scores and included a higher overall percentage of students taking the exam.

Outside the classroom, Madeline takes on various leadership roles to enrich the academic experience. As the calculus team lead, she fosters a collaborative learning environment for students. Additionally, she coordinates Shark U, an after-school tutoring program aimed at providing personalized support to students. Madeline also contributes to the school's vibrant community spirit as the scorekeeper and announcer for the baseball team, adding energy and excitement to every game.

With her dedication to student success and a passion for mathematics, Madeline is committed to nurturing the next generation of math enthusiasts and problem-solvers at Shadow Creek High School.
